Elanguest Computer Courses – 2010
These courses can be booked for a minimum of 4 students & a maximum of 8 students.
These courses are provided by an associate company of Elanguest Language school which works in the IT sector providing support and material for Interactive Learning sites such as www.englishmed.com - www.linguasnet.com and www.englishforums.com
This course can also be booked as a work training experience in Malta while opting to use a Lifelong Learning Program (LLP) which includes Comenius (for schools), Erasmus (for higher education), Leonardo da Vinci (for vocational education and training) & Grundtvig (for adult education experience).
For non-native speakers of English, we would suggest that they should be booked as follows:
First 2 weeks General English or General English Intensive followed by 2 or more weeks Computer Course
Standard Computer Course - Each student has sole use of a computer throughout.
Cost for Computer Course: 210 Euros per week – minimum 2 weeks duration for Computer
Cost for English Course before: Please check the main price guide as depends on season and which course of english choosen.
Course Details:
• Three hours tuition in the morning.
• 4-8 students per class.
• One and a half hours use of computer in the afternoon for practice and lesson assimilation
Option 1: Introduction to Multimedia tools and Web design
Course content will include:
Learning how to use and understand HTML. Learning how to use multimedia programs and how to incorporate these elements into a WEB PAGE. Setting up a personal domain and using FTP.
Option 2: Introduction to Windows and Office Applications
Course content will include:
Learning how to use or make better use of Windows and Office Applications. This will also include some tuition on the basic use of GRAPHIC applications and PowerPoint.
The choice of which option to take can be decided on the first day of the course following an initial consultation with the tutor. Each student will be assessed independently and their program will be tailored to their specific needs within the above options.
In our experience, most young learners have a basic knowledge of computers but some important aspects may be missing or not fully understood. All courses will cover the essentials of computer use. This may include some aspects from each option.
